I totally agree with other forum members, it is not a wise idea to sign a lease before seeing the place ,there is a lot of scams going around here. Why? Notwithstanding scams, you should know that it's very easy to use varying focal lengths to make apartment features look bigger/smaller. They can add filters on top of that with attractive colour schemes. You wouldn't get a proper feel for the place unless you actually view it.Why? I agree, make sure to meet the landlord in person or virtually. Also, I recommend getting a realtor, they charge no fee and will walk you through the entire rental process and prepare all the paperwork when submitting an offer.I totally agree with other forum members, it is not a wise idea to sign a lease before seeing the place ,there is a lot of scams going around here.
One more thing never rent apartments/basements from certain people(I am sure you understoodwhat I meant ,I have mentionedin my post several times), if you are renting single family homes, make sure you do your research thoroughly and meet the owner before you sign the lease, make sure you discusseverythinglike laundry, cutting grass, ploughing snow, maintenence, utilities, privacy (you might think this are basic things, trust me there is where they take advantage of you)etc, certain things you can't tolerate it ,you are moving to a new country you don't want to put yourself through that hassle .I heard certain people are so stinchy they will make your stay living hell. Many landlords I mentioned are just cheap and they will be extra nice to you when they meet you first but there is a lot of traps behind that smile.
Choosing a home is similar to Choosing friends believe me you don't want to make a bad choice on that.I am not exaggerating, I am telling the plain truth.
That is the same in TX ,in Houston the apt manager calls the HR to ask whether you work there and ask for 3 months of paystubs and previous references and credit history. There is a probability of being scammed that's why. I would once again recommend booking an Airbnb for 4-6 weeks initially.
I just secured a studio apartment in the Downtown Toronto area, moving in in 2 weeks, the rental process is very intense here I would say. Since I moved from the US, I have a job and my US credit history helped secure the apartment without paying anything more than the standard deposit. Landlords here call up your workplace HR and verify whether your job is legitimate, which is pretty crazy.
Once went to see an apartment that was completely different from the pictures and virtual tour.Plenty of scams happen here with these apartment rental based on online showings.
He likely stole it out of frustration and wanted to cause you some level of inconvenience. Such kind of thefts have virtually no consequences and hence too common. In Chicago bike theft was one of the most common crimes. Many of my friends had their bikes stolen and police just gave them a slip that they could use to get reimbursement from insurance. It's been 5 days since I got my bike. Someone tried to steal the dynamo lights and the bell today... but couldn't as they were bolted in several places. So, he ended up stealing just the power cables for the light and just the ringer for the bell. What do you do with just the ringer? How do you even sell it for drugs?
It seems that they're busy with CUAET applications. One more week of disappointment with very few PPR, it's as if IRCC asked for ADR only to ask them again in six months. Lazy bastards wasting everyone's time.
What is cuaet? It seems that they're busy with CUAET applications.
Between 5 July and 20 July, the number of applications approved increased from 151,353 to 263,753 or 7,493/ day. The jump was so large I thought they had made a typo, but the latest update shows otherwise. The number of applications approved has been <1000/ day since June.
The rate slowed from that breakneck pace between 20 July and 27 July to 1,798/ day. I suppose that's why we've seen the return of PPR issuances. Just a trickle though.
