Background check status change from completed to in progress

Hello

My background Verification status changed from Completed to in Progress. Do you have any idea what it means? My Citizenship application was received on 6 January 2021. and IRCC requested my fingerprints on 22 April 2021. and I did my fingerprint in may, and IRCC received my fingerprint results in June.
On 21 June 2021, my Background verification is updated to completed. I
n October- November, IRCC requested for the citizenship test.

On November 10, 2021, I gave a citizenship test. which was unsuccessful.

2nd time I gave a citizenship test was On 13 February 2022.

my Citizenship test was updated to be completed on 18 February 2022.

And when I checked my online Citizenship application status. On 27 April 2022. I saw my background verification change to updated from completed to In progress.

Please, does anyone have any idea what it means?

My wife is in the same boat. On March 10, our status in the old dashboard showed 'Decision Made', and the new one said 'Pending Oath Ceremony'.
On March 25, they changed her BC to 'In Progress' and our applications to 'In Progress'.
My dashboard shows everything except for the Oath Ceremony as completed.

Since then, there have been no updates to our application, and she has not received an FP request yet.
FYI, she had to submit her FP in March 2021, so I assume the RCMP report has expired, based on what everybody else said. However, it has been two months since, and no further progress on our application or an FP request.

just a quick question: did you happen to update your address information on the application?

The application had the correct address.
However, initially in 2020 after I got the AOR, I noticed the mailing address on the old status dashboard was showing my Dubai address for mailing, not sure how they got that, maybe from the time of PR application.
I send them a mail to fix that and it was done.

would anyone know how long do they take to send the 2nd FP request? I have had my BG moved back to In Progress in April 2022 and so far no FP request.

Except that up there, in the first version of the story, the guy says "I received FR request back in September 2019".

How do you get the FP request ? Is it email, letter or you had to call IRCC?

I checked my online account and discovered that the background check which was updated to completed in June 2021 was updated to in progress on June 06 , 2022. I never got FP request

Any update on those who had a similar situation, do they ask for another FP? becasue back in March 2021 they asked for the background check and FP's which they received end of April and Marked the BG check as "Complete", does it expire?

I just got the same thing on my tracker.
Background check was completed on Sep 2021, today it is set back to in progress.
Any update from the people who faced the same?

Nothing on my end, checked with a couple of others on the thread directly, one is in the same boat as us and the other had the issue last year and their status went back to "complete" the very next day then it took 6 months between the second "complete" status and the Oath so brace yourselves, this government is slow by default let alone COVID and the mess they have - gotta love socialism!!!

I am assuming you did your BG check sometime in Jul/Aug 2021? if it was in July then there is a possibility that they let it expire (if that's even a thing) and then they'll ask us for a new one to process the application, if it's still valid then the "In Process" is just someone pulling the file and pushing it back on the shelf to show "movement", either way, not much we can do till someone wakes up and decides to communicate!

Yes, I had my FP submitted in July 2021 after their request.

It is worth mentioning that along with this update I got an update that Language skills, Physical presence and Prohibitions got updated to in progress although they were already in progress. Anyone saw the same thing ?
Only thing I have completed now is citizenship test.

So they finally requested a second BG check because the one they requested over a year ago expired because THEY didn't touch the application from January to May!!! I love Canada and hate it's government
