Hi Everyone,
Need advice regarding a certain scenario
Received COPR for both myself and spouse
Added spouse post AOR so no points claimed for spouse.
Currently we are facing some issues and might go for separation later. Please suggest what should my next step be?
Should I do a soft landing and activate my PR?
My spouse doesn’t intend to travel and as we are currently separated but not divorced so should I inform IRCC? Will this affect my COPR?
Also what if I activate my PR by doing soft landing but my spouse doesn’t land before COPR expiry will it affect my PR also?
I was thinking of applying for divorce post soft landing so is this a good idea?

As the primary applicant, you can land before your spouse does.
Your spouse can land until the very last day that the COPR is valid if they choose not to land it doesn’t affect you as you are the primary applicant. As for your divorce etc you want to talk to a lawyer

I agree with Jazzed. You’re PA with post-AOR spouse. Just don’t get divorced before landing. Whatever happens to your marriage next, or whatever your spouse does, will have no effect to your PR status at this point.
