Travel Document- Birth Certificate

I am applying for Canada PR for my US born kid. He does not have a Passport yet. In IMM 0008, What should I put in place of "Do you have a valid passport/travel document" If I select yes, its asking for document expiry date.

You need to apply one before applying for the sponsor application

I applied for a passport on May 17th, and obviously took my birth certificate. Today, I needed it for something else, and realized it isn’t where I thought I put it. And I can’t remember if they kept it to ship with the passport or not. Can someone reassure me that they took it and I in fact did not just lose my birth certificate? Thanks lol
