What was his response after you reached out?
A template answer with very little information (same as what I got from the MP):
Thank you for your correspondence of February 15, 2022, addressed to the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, regarding your application for permanent residence.
Your concerns are noted and I appreciate you sharing the circumstances that prompted you to write. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) acknowledges that this is a challenging period for couples who are attempting to immigrate and reunite during the ongoing pandemic.
IRCC also realizes that, despite its efforts during the pandemic, some applicants have had to wait a long time for their applications to be processed. Processing times can also vary depending on the nature, circumstances, and complexity of each individual case. Changes in family composition during the application process may also lead to additional delays. Please be assured that the Department continues to work as hard as possible to reduce processing times.
Individuals who want to live permanently in Canada must meet program eligibility requirements, as well as statutory medical, criminality, and security background clearances. These requirements exist to protect the interests and safety of Canadians, and must be satisfied before a permanent resident visa can be issued.
IRCC records confirm that a positive eligibility decision has recently been made, and documentation to include your spouse as a dependant in your application was received and included in your file. Please be assured that you will be contacted if additional information or documentation is needed, or as soon as a final decision has been made.
Should you have any additional information or documentation that you wish to provide to IRCC in support of your application, such information should be directed to the processing office, or you can contact IRCC through existing service channels.
I regret that a more favourable response cannot be provided at this time, but I hope that you will find this information to be helpful.
