I left Canada back in 2014 on awork permit and will be back this year on the same status.

My qustion is will I retain my previous SIN or they will issue me a new one?

Did you previous work permit expired? Usually the SIN has a expiry date but you can extend it by showing the new docs like new work permit. If it starts with 9, yes it expires with your work permit satus.

Work permit already expired January of 2015.

Go to service Canada with your new Work permit and get it update.

Your SIN will be dormant . Go to Service Canada to reactivate it
