Just to update everyone, after applying in Sept 2019, then having to leave the country due to family and personal matters, finally after 2 years and 8/9 months after a knock on the door....I signed for a special delivery in the UK and low and behold 2 passports confirming that I'm Canadian.....ok well th Citizenship cert did that however it's finally over....he says.....thanks to everyone for helping and supporting and I'll continue to support where I can, especially with people applying from overseas and hopefully I can help answer questions and provide useful answers!

Passports took approximately 11 weeks to arrive back to myself from initial posting.

Congratssss all the best. did you have to provide a name of a canadian guarantor who lived in UK? or its ok to pick anybody else like your doctor, lawyer...ect?

The guarantor lived in the UK and had to be part of the list of professions that were on the website, I used a Police Officer however neither my Guarantor or references were contacted.

Hi Pink, yes that's right it was 11 weeks from when I posted the application using special delivery via Royal Mail which meant the London High Commission received it the following day and that's where the time/ticker starts counting from...

So applied in Sept 2019, AOR Received Dec 2019, Came back to UK Jan 2020, Covid hit Feb/March 2020, FP Request Feb 20 and sent off, 1st Test request in April 21 and informed them in UK...at this point tests from abroad weren't allowed, 2nd Test invite came in July 21 and passed successfully, 2nd FP Request received in Nov 21 and sent off in Nov 21, System updated fully in Jan 22, Oath Invitation received for Feb 22....flew to Canada with my wife and 2 daughters (one of whom is Canadian by birth) and took Oath. Flew back to UK and Citizenship cert received March 22, Passport app and photos/forms etc sent April 19th 22 and finally 11 weeks later approximately we received our passports.

Someone in EU reported receiving citizenship certificate after 2 months while abroad. Yours only took 1 month.

My oath was completed in Canada and my certificate was received due to it being hand delivered by my brother.
