Are April applicants getting their visa or atleast some updates about it?
Is there anyone who applied in April that can provide an update here?

I applied in March and I haven't received a decision yet... hahaha...
I read some where, if your application is not qualified for sds, it will automatically be considered via non sds, and for non sds it may take longer, especially there are other family members come together. Not sure if that's your case right now. Have you ever tried to contact your VO?

Have you seen the latest Visa Processing Time from IRCC? Study permit processing is now only 9 weeks coming from 12 weeks.

I wonder if the 9 weeks applies to newer / recent applications or will past applications be covered by this timeline?

I applied last May 4th and still have not heard anything.

This is good news. If this information is to be trusted then the processing times for SDS should be somewhat restored back to the normal sub-20 day timeframe..
I believe the updated processing time applies to all applicants irrespective of the date of application submission.

Hope this is true then. I applied SDS last May 4 and this week marks the 8th week already. Hoping for some good news next week....but will probably not cling on to it too much given their track record

Another reason could be the fact that volume of applications received has dropped now that the Fall sem applicants have already applied and the Winter sem will start with their process a couple months later..
Whatever the case, hope everyone gets their permits on time and get to start their respective courses in person..

It was an error from the website. It said 9 weeks but if you scrolled down to see when that info was last updated, it showed an error instead of a date. Now that that's fixed, its showing again 12 weeks.

For an application to be considered SDS, you have to apply under the SDS stream. They do not decide if it falls under SDS or not. SDS has different requirements than non-SDS applications.

I applied with my wife, not sure if that has anything to do with my application taking so long to be processed.

I never thought I would be in this position where I would have to wait 17 weeks or more to receive a decision. My wife is the main applicant and she already got tired of waiting and applied to a University in Europe where she was accepted. She now needs a decision from IRCC to decide whether she goes ahead with her plans in Canada or if she gets a refusal, to ask for a refund of her tuition fees.
