Hello,

I recently married my boyfriend of 4 years in a court marriage in India. I am a Canadian Citizen
We wanted to first apply for a visitors visa and thereafter apply for PR at a later time.
I wanted to know if it would be easy to get a visitors visa for his visit to Canada?

Depends on how strong his ties to India. The fact that you had a court marriage may also create prob.was later on for sponsorship. When you mention that you have been together for 4 years have you been dating like western dating? Have you vacationed together, lived together, are a visible couple in public (take pictures together, attend family events and holidays together, etc. Did you have a party to celebrate your wedding after the civil ceremony? Have you posted about your civil wedding on social media? Did friends and family attend your civil ceremony? Unfortunately many have a civil ceremony so they can start the sponsorship process but plan on having a traditional ceremony later on which they will count as their true wedding.

Yes we have been dating like Western Dating, have vacationed together, lived together whenever i went down to India and behaved liked a proper couple. The only thing is that we didn't have a party or anything as such for the civil ceremony since we planned to have a proper wedding later in the year.
