Hi guys,
I am an OCI card holder/Canadian citizen and a former indian passport holder. My wife is a Canadian citizen. We both got married in US state of California. We currently live in Vancouver, Canada.
When i was gathering documents needed for applying OCI for my wife I came across a section on BLS saying,' Marriage Certificate which has been attested by High Commission of India or any other Indian Embassy / Consulate'. And on the CGI website it says.' If the marriage is solemnized in foreign country, it should be apostle/ certified by the concerned Indian Mission/ Post'
So should I be getting a attestation from the US consulate in Canada which I see from their website that they dont do for a marriage certificate. Or should I be trying to get it apostille from California state through post mail. After which I send it to the Indian High commission ?. I dont think any Canadian government will attest a US marriage certificate.
Any thoughts or experiences you guys can share ?
