How do I reapply for IEC after being denied entry?

Hey everyone, couldn't find any answers on other forums so I'm hoping anyone who experienced it can help me out.

About 2 weeks ago my working holiday application was accepted. I got my POE (Port of Entry) letter and flew to Canada only to be denied entry at the immigration office. So I flew back to my home country (South Korea)

The CBSA officer told me I answered this question wrong on my ETA and working holiday application: "Have you ever been denied entry to Canada...?"

I was denied entry about 6~7 years ago because they thought I was "an ingenuine family relative" but I was able to fly back and cross the border with the car so I didn't think of it as "denied entry".

The officer told me I should reapply for ETA and working holiday application once more. He said I have to explain how I misunderstood the question in detail since I was denied entry before.

So how should I go about reapplying for IEC in my situation? Do I withdraw my application and reapply or is there another way? Because I saw on the official website you can only apply for IEC once in South Korea. Just want to take cautionary measures.

You were definitely denied entry 6-7 years ago and were required to declare this in your application. The good news is that the officer was fairly lenient with you and allowed you to simply leave Canada (vs. giving you either an exclusion order or misrepresentation ban).

You'll need to reapply from scratch from South Korea. This means you'll need to submit a new profile into the pool, wait to be selected, and the submit a brand new application once you are selected again, paying the fees a second time. You'll now need to declare two denials in your application - the old one and then the new one that just happened now.

You should include a letter stating the circumstances of what happened and apologizing for the misrepresentation in your application. You'll have to hope they allow you to apply again under the circumstances. I don't think any of us can tell you for certain what will happen since this is an unusual situation.

Thank you for your advice. As I did more research, turns out that's the only method possible in my situation.
