Hi I just accepted an offer to join a member firm in Canada soon. However i haven't disclosed my hiv positive status to the company due to privacy and also discrimination i might face in the future. I wanted to find out that would my health status affect my visa application process and can my visa be denied based on that ?

You'll most likely need to complete a medical as part of the process of obtaining a work permit. Whether your health status will impact your ability to get a visa will depend on your general health. If you are generally healthy, this shouldn't be an issue. If you have any health issues and/or are on any medication (espeically expensive medication), it's possible that could impact your ability to get a work permit approved.

Hi Thanks, I have been on anti retroviral for a while now and my general heath is great. With regards to expensive medication my current anti retroviral aren't expensive and subsidized by my government. However i will need to stay on anti-retrovirals to remain healthy. I don't know if this will generally affect my work visa to be approved?

You need to determine how much those anti-retrovirals cost in Canada since you will need to obtain them in Canada while you are living / working here. The costs of this medication in your home country and the subsidies by your government aren't relevant. What matters is how much this will cost in Canada. That's how IRCC will assess your application. Usually it's pretty easy to find the costs in Canada through googling.
