Hi,
For spousal sponsorship outside Canada, reference (support) letter can only be written by person who can speak in English and reply to call or email in English?
My parents do not know English, can I write reference letters for them to support my spousal sponsorship case?
Thanks

Hello! It might not be a good idea for you to write a letter on behalf of your parents for your own application. If your parents can read/write you could try having them write the letter and get a certified translation and submit those together.

It's up to them to decide whether they're comfortable signing a document you wrote.

I did a couple of these, clearing of course with the individuals that they were okay with content before and after. (Most actually did read english but would not have been very comfortable writing). Didn't have any issues.

I don't think IRCC contacts often; but if they start to doubt the contents of your file enough to think about calling your parents, your file already has problems. (most officers are going to assume parents are 'in the bag' and going to say what you told them anyway, so that would probably be amongst least useful 'just checking' calls)
