Need advise - eTA under security check

Hi all, I am holding a SOWP and planned to move to canada in April. I have re-applied eTA on 25 Feb 2022 due to renewal of my passport. However, my eTA did not approved right away but need to submit further doc. Including CV, 10 years address, every, passport pages and etc.

Since then, there are no updates till now, I tried to call IRCC and was told that my case is under security check. They question my old passport will be expired on 10 July 23 and I was too early to renew.

As we original plan to move to canada in April, we all quit jobs and school also sold out the apartment. We all stuck in hotel and waiting the approval of eTA so we can buy tickets to canada.

Is there anyone can share the experience of delay in eTA? Any idea how long it will take for security chk on eTA?

I would recommend you post your questions to the Visitors section of the forum.

Security checks are very individual and it's generally hard to guess how long something like that might take.
