Hello guys, I finished 3 year program at April, 2021 and I started taking military service from June, 2021. I'm from South Korea, so the military service is necessary. I'm still taking it and it will be finished in this year December. I will start 1 year certificate program in January, 2023. After this 1 year program, I'm planning to apply pgwp. If I prove some supporting documents of military service, is there any possibility to get a 3 year pgwp?

So you did your three year program in Canada?

Assume you have a study permit but you will only be eligible for a one year PGWP if you take a one year program. You can only have at most 6 months between programs.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I did a 3 year program in Seneca College. So the military service cannot be a reason for approved absence? Except the military service, there is no gap between studies. I finished a first program, immediately entered to the military and I will start a second program right after the military service.

You have to apply for a PGWP within 150 days of graduation. You wouldn’t be elgible to combine the two programs (even if you didn’t do military service) because the two programs must be completed within two years of each other. So you wouldn’t have been able to combine the two program anyways. Take a two year diploma.
