Yeah last year it took me 52 days in total and got rejected. Not sure how long it takes this year..I've applied for a visitor visa through London on 9th Apr. Haven't heard anything yet. Status: Biometrics complete and background check in progress
Awh no! Was that for a student permit as well? May I ask on what grounds was the rejection?Yeah last year it took me 52 days in total and got rejected. Not sure how long it takes this year..
Sorry I have no clue about that. My understanding is that your location determines where your visa application is processed and reviewed. Unless you're lucky then you'll be processed in Ottawa. But the majority cases are processed locally....Last year my sp application was processed by London office in UK and it took about 52 days...this time it's like 61 days already but still not reviewed...I am a resident of the UK, have a valid BRP card and submitted my study permit application in London on April 26.
However, as far as I understand, a significant portion of study permit applications are processed centrally by the Visa Centre in Ottawa, especially for cases that are automatically identified by AI (Chinook ).
Do you know how can I check where the application is being processed? I have valid Canada, US and UK visas and should be processed quickly by AI, but still nothing has happened.
I am told that the London office is one of the slowest visa processing centers in the world.
Third country fam ties, imm status, and purpose of visit.Awh no! Was that for a student permit as well? May I ask on what grounds was the rejection?
Do you remember if they updated each step one by one or the final decision straight away?Yeah last year it took me 52 days in total and got rejected. Not sure how long it takes this year..
I can’t remember accurately because it was my first time applying for Canadian study permit and I really didn’t know much details nor how difficult it could be until I got rejected. I could recall that once I logged in it said my application was under review or something and after that maybe for one week or two weeks I got rejected but I didn’t know that there was a difference between “we are processing your application” and “we are reviewing your eligibility”. If you are in the latter stage it means VOs are checking your application and will make a decision. But that review stage may also take months as I can see from some of the other applicants in China. It’s just there is no email notification when the stage changes from processing to review, you gotta log in and check it by yourself.Do you remember if they updated each step one by one or the final decision straight away?
This is helpful. I also submitted a visitor visa application to the London office in January 2022. I used webforms many times to ask several questions at that time. I still have not received any response until my visa was approved a month later. It has been almost 4+ months now and I still have not received any response - even though it doesn't matter anymore, the visa has been approved.Hi All,
I have submitted a visitor visa on March 16th and Biometrics was done on April 4th in London VO the processing time then was 23 days and has currently changed to 5 days.
There is no progress in my application until today
I have raised multiple web-forms but not received any response on the same.
Has anyone recently received a PPR applying from the London VO.
Nope not yet - Applied Apr 9th. What does it say for your biometrics and background check?Hi All,

Thanks for this. Atleast now I know they are working on visa. Did you use gckey or portal? And was it updated at each stage or straight away the final decision?I also submitted a visitor visa application to the London office in January 2022. My advice is to never expect any response from the London office regarding any webform message.
I use gckey to apply. After I received the message of reviewing the eligibility, the application was approved in less than a day. There were no other updates besides that, so it was basically the same as a straightforward decision because when you receive the update, you will get the final result right away. Thanks for this.
