Any Advice For Applying For A PGWP With A Risky Semester?

I did a 2 year program. In one of the semesters in the middle of the program, I had failed a course which led to the total credits for that semester going below amount that classifies as "full-time". I repeated that course in a subsequent semester.

I checked with an immigration consultant as well as the college, and they told me that as long as I remained enrolled and did not withdraw from the course, then I am still considered to be full-time. A 'F' grade means that the course was completed but the performance was not satisfactory.

Now the only thing worrying me is that on my transcript, the grade next to that course is 'F', however the credits is showing as 0. It's not showing the credits that the course would have granted if I had passed it. I passed it in the next semester though and it is showing the credits in that semester.

So my question is, how do I approach this issue when applying for a PGWP. Do I have to provide an explanation? Or should I just apply without any explanation? Another consultant had told me that it is wise to only say whatever is necessary and nothing more. Not entirely sure what she meant by that.

Also it is worth noting that the semester I had failed the course in, took place in the early stages of the pandemic. And IRCC had said that students who went part time in the year 2020 due to the pandemic are still eligible for PGWP. But I don't know if that applies to me because me failing the course was not a direct result of the pandemic. Or can I use this as a strengthening factor for my case?

I agree with both Consultants, as long as you maintained full time status and show progress toward completion of your program. What confuse me in your situation you are not specific if you went part time in one of the semester or you are worry about the grades only...?

Have your school prepares an explanation letter about its requirements. As long as your university can confirm your full-time status via a letter, the transcript itself will not cause problem.

On my school's website it states that courses with a 'F' grade count towards full-time status. I'm wondering if I can just provide a link to the school website in my PGWP application? Would they accept that?

I also have enrollment verification letters for each semester. Which are computer generated letters that you can download from the school's information system. On the letters, all semesters are showing as full time. I'm not that sure though if these letters also count withdrawn courses as "enrolled" (as in, if you enroll in a course and then withdraw from it). Not that I've withdrawn from any courses.

Yea just write in your letter of explanation that you were enrolled full time however due to your one F you did not get credits. They will 99 percent understand I'm sure

I'm wondering which justification is the best to use (the semester taking place in the pandemic or staying enrolled). Because while I know that you can apply for a PGWP multiple times in case of rejection, you cannot go back on your original justification and change it right? So once you choose your justification, it's a permanent choice and I'm worried about making the wrong choice.

So I consulted our school's immigration consultant suggested that I need to take full-time during summer since my program doesn't have a summer break so she said if I won't take summer class then that would be unauthorized leave. But my tutor in our school told me not to listen because they want to earn from me. He told me to take the course and justify my situation. Here I am. Approved PGWP. You just need to make a letter of explanation. A detailed one so the visa officer will understand your situation. They are human for sure they will understand your situation.

Wow that is actually unexpected! So you went part time in the semester? But what about the semester in which you had initially failed the course? Did your total credits earned go below the amount that is needed to qualify as full-time?

It is. But you just need to explain yourself in letter and for sure they will understand the situation. Well the semester that I failed the course is still considered as full-time cause I took it but I just failed it.
