Tax Credit - Considered as social assistance ?

Hi,

I am a permanent resident living in Canada and my wife is in India. My family sponsorship application is in progress.
I already received sponsor approval ( SA ) and the file is now being processed in New Delhi(NDVO).

While filing taxes for 2021, my CPA told me that I am eligible for tax credits (GST/HST and Ontario Trillium benefits) because I was unemployed in 2021.

Are the tax credits considered social assistance ? Would that affect my family sponsorship application for my wife ?
Please help!

No it is not social assistance unless your were on Ontario Works.

I never applied for social assistance.

Looks like you did have US income from 2021 so you may not qualify for those tax credits.
