Hi everyone,
I arrived in Canada last year as an international student. This year, I filed my taxes on time.
I also met a wonderful partner who is Canadian last year and we plan to marry soon. Starting last month, his salary also gets deposited into my account. He works full time and I part time. Both our salaries get deposited in my account.
I was wondering going ahead this might create a problem for me? I always had a clean record and I want to keep it that way
Thankks

Is it a joint account? Assuming so, no issues.

Not a joint acccount. It is my direct account

That seems very strange, if I'm being honest. Normally employers require a bank account with the employee's name on it. What name do the pay stubs show?

This is very strange indeed. The cheque would need to be made to your name to be deposited to your account.

And he would have no access to your/his money. Does he file tax on his income that's deposited into your account?
Since you are talking about marriage soon, I think it's good to understand each other's finance.

I think depositing his income in your account under your name would make his income less tracable to CRA...
Hopefully, that's not the case and he's just a very trusting partner and want to give all his cash to you.

My partners employers asked for direct deposit details. He gave mine. And it clearly shows up in my account

I don't know what else to say. That's really unusual.
