Hi,

Can anyone advise as to why some applications seem to be forgotten? I received a request last September to provide further proof of cohabitation of me and my partner in uae where we currently reside, we uploaded the docs on the same day. (We uploaded so many testimonials, pics, letters, tenancy, imm5409 form and all the proof even before this request but still they asked for more) It has been 6 months after that and still no decision. Even after several GCMS notes received, it says that the documents submitted has been referred to TRU for review on Nov. 16.
I have been sending hundreds of follow up on mail and webform but I only got standard replies. I am currently under "recommend interview".

Should I withdraw the application and re apply? I'm desperate for answers as my partner's flight is on April. It's also sad to see so many applications lodged this jan and feb get approved so fast while my application which is already on 245 days and counting is still on "queue" for further review. :(

Is your partner coming to Canada on a skilled work permit or study permit? When was your partner's visa approved?

The problem is, I am seeing so many new applications quickly get approved the past 2 months and my application is not moving when they were the ones who requested additional documents. That was 6 months ago. My application has been pending for a total of 8 months. It's so unfair.

SOWP don’t usually get approved quickly. Fairly typical for it to take 6 months if not more. Would suggest you stop sending so many webforms. People should be able to check up on their applications but it you are submitting webforms so frequently IRCC will be less inclined to help you.

The reason why I kept following up daily was because they never opened the requested document. And 6 months or more was not the case for other applications. I got so frustrated when I saw so many January and Feb 2022 lodgers for OWP got approved in less than 30 DAYS. That's where I lost it and started following up daily. :( why would they be less inclined? It's like they're power tripping me then if that's how they respond to follow ups :( this is so messed up.

Feel sorry for you. You didn't even receive a message that they have received your documents?

They did not send any message. I just saw on my GCMS that they DID receive the documents since OCT 2021 but are not reviewing it. They just left my application to rot. I haven't received any decision until now.
