BC PNP - Municipal Business License for Software companies

For my BC PNP application, asked the employer for Municipal Business License and they said that software companies do not actually need it and they have been operating in BC for over 2 decades.

Can someone guide me on how to deal with the application? Anyone have any documents with exemption list?

My company is also tech/software/sass company and they provided me the license.Be careful it may be a scam

Provincial /federal license is fine.
