Urgent---Passport Request

Hey, I am just going to send my passport. In the IRCC request letter, hard copy or soft copy of passport depends on whether I am "visa-exempt"

I wanna confirm: this is nothing to do with eTA.

I checked Canada visa-exempt countries list and I belong to "visa-exempt", therefore I am going to send a just a printout of the bio data page of my passport.

Can anyone help me confirm my understanding?

Correct me if I am wrong but you should be able to upload that on the portal if they have requested you for just a copy of the passport. If they are saying send the passport for stamping then I guess you ahve to do it?

Nope, there was an official Passport Request letter, asking me to mail photoscopy of the passport, not to upload

Ok, if they have mentioned photoscopies then mail them photocopies.

So what do you think about "visa-exempt" and eTA?

If they ask you to send photocopy of the passport then your travel authorization is linked to your passport number all good. We will have the same.
