@Ragnheidr Do you have any advice on how to frame a message to MP regarding the delay? I still don't have a proof of travel, but I must travel by the end of this month, do I need to give the MP's office a proof of travel to intervene on my behalf?

I think they are ignoring the complaints. It's closer to tyranny than democracy these services because they are effectively saying you only have to accept what we offer regardless of the quality of service, and you should not object, and if you do, we won't even acknowledge it. Go to twitter and read the terrible stories. Some people were told their applications is not in the system, and passport Canada doesn't know where it is

i have not heard back. However, I emailed my MP last night and they replied this morning. I had to sign a form granting them permission to look into my passport delay. They said they will try to find out why the long delay tomorrow.
if you know who your MP is, google their name and you will find the email address for them.
My email went like this….. I am reaching out to you for assistance in finding out if my passport application, along with my original certificate of citizenship has been lost in the passport processing office.
My name is, my birthdate is, my birth city, state and county is, my records show receipt of my application on this date, I applied within Canada.
You get the idea, they need all that info. Just tell your story and they will help.
They got my citizenship oath date for me after I asked for help after two years of waiting.

if you know who your MP is, google their name and you will find the email address for them.

I have no travel planned and I told them that. I said I am concerned they have lost my application and my citizenship certificate. They will help you.
it’s my fault that I left the guarantor signature off the back of my drivers license, so really even though they received my application January 4th, they didn’t get the guarantor signature until February. But it’s still too long. I can’t go anywhere for awhile anyway, but I want the passport so all this waiting for Canadian documents ends. Hope you and everyone gets their passport soon.

Without a proof of travel I'm afraid that your request might not get very far mate :-/ You can also calll your MP directly, you will most probably talk with someone from their office.

Application Delivered : 9 Feb 2022
Contacted by passport office: 4th March
(requesting new photos)
CC charge : 12 March 2022
Certificate returned: 5th April
Passport delivered: 6th April

So my passport has finally been delivered.

Just so everyone is aware I reposted my dates as above. It's basically been about double the standard time frame. Close to 40 days.

I sent email inquiry January 19th
January 20th they emailed reply..in process
I called February 21st and they said missing guarantor signature on back of my drivers license.
I went to Staples two days in a row to fax it, but always busy fax signal.
So Fedexed overnight (cost over 100.00)
Fedex delivered February 28th
I filed complaint March 3rd
I called March 17th and they said no note on record of receiving fedex.
Have not managed to get thru on phone since and no response to my complaint.
Now I’ll just wait and see what MP says.

OMG. This is literally a dramatic and painful process. I think it takes 3 weeks to open the mail and sort it. Someone else reported they have been waiting since Nov 2021 because of a missing signature somewhere. It seems asking for documents after they receive the file is a nightmare. I hope your MP will get you some answers and some actions.

And I thought Cc is charged only when all documentation is in order. but I see your documentation issues came up post the credit card charge... all my theories (and assumptions) are proving to be wrong .
