Study permit extension questions and International Travel 2022

Hi,
My passport and study permit are expiring in June, 2022. but my course ends in April, 2023.

I have already applied for my study permit extension but I have not received any result and I have to visit back home as my spring semester is online.

What are the possible solutions for me? or What should i do?

I am not sure how long it will take for my study permit extension approval?

Some people saying apply visit visa how can i apply visit visa when i am already on study visa till june

Is there a reason why you cannot renew your passport and then apply for study permit extension. Usually permit only given till validity of passport

You are under maintained status provided you are in Canada. With current processing time, it is hard to predict when they will finalize your application. Decision to leave the country is totally yours, but you wont be able to return until your application is approved and trv extended.

1. online processing 83 days, paper 161 days
2. What people mean is that you should apply for a new TRV (depending on when the present one expires) not an extension as a visitor.

You can travel outside of canada and come back before your current study permit expiry date.. If you didnt come to canada before that, you will loose your student status in canada if your extension is not approved by the time.

So dont take risk during this pandemic time. If you can come back before June, no issues..
