Hi All,

I hope you can provide me some guidance on my issue.

My application was received by the office in May 2019. I completed my citizenship test in Nov 2019. In Jan 2020, I received a letter for oath ceremony on Jan 27 for which I informed them that I would be travelling from Jan 25 to March 9. While I was away, I received another letter that your ceremony is scheduled for Feb 27. I missed that ceremony also on Feb 27 because I was not in the country. When I cam back in March 2020, I sent them email that I had already informed them in Jan 2020 based on the first oath ceremony invite that I would not be travelling but, second letter was still issued which again I missed. Since then I have been waiting. Call centre agent i spoke with told me that second letter is issued by the system.

Now problem is I have been waiting since Feb 2020 for oath ceremony. I have sent email inquiries 3 times during this time and every time I am told that your application is in progress and no further document is required from you. What options do I have to speed up the process? Please help. Thank you
It is your problem.you declined oath ceremony 2 times.
You think it is a charity.
Your own hands

Congratulations. After a long wait
Thank you. Yeah, it's because of your suggestion. I wrote to their office at the email address mentioned in the first oath invitation email. I got a reply from their office in 2 days. If you had not suggested that, I wouldn't have thought about contacting their office directly :)

Hello All,

My spouses' journey to Canadian Citizenship has come to a close. She applied for her Citizenship in May 2019.

The oath was on Thursday 31st March 2022. Got the Certificate on Monday, the 4th of April.

As we needed to travel back home, applied for an express passport at the Mississauga passport office - was in line at 6 am and got done at 1 pm.

Got the passport a few days ago.

Good luck to all other applicants!

Hi,
would like to know how many days (currently) before the oath ceremony does the applicant receive the invite? Whether it is through email or regular mail?
Thanks

About two weeks ahead of the oath date. You won’t get the info you need to log in to the zoom oath room until about five days before the oath. Both come by email.

Guys ..question after a lonnnnnnggggg time yesterday when I logged into the citizenship tracker, I see that my background verification has been updated to "In process" previously this was marked as "complete".

A week back my wife called IRCC and asked them about the status of our citizenship application as we were oath pending for almost a year and a half ( all other fields were set to complete, it was confirmed by pulling a detailed report as well) . The agent told her that the application is definitely beyond processing times and he would send a note to the processing office.

Now that the background verification is again in progress does that mean when it is completed, we could get the invite for oath ?
