Yes, I applied through it and it is NOT THE SAME PATH AS EXPRESS ENTRY. It is simply digitization of the paper-based application system and it is separate to EE.

You will not receive a processing time advantage other than not having to wait for a courier to deliver the mail and paying postage fees.

IRCC will treat these applications exactly the same as if they were sent by paper. Your AOR times are based on too many factors including on your luck.

It's curious that the processing time is more than than EE PNPs, considering the base PNPs require less work in processing (i.e. don't have to check FSW or CEC eligibility).

It's a fair point and I actually wonder what the logic behind processing EE applications much faster than PNP is, given that the province has basically done a lot of the work in terms of checking work history, etc?

I guess if you're inland PNP, one could argue that the reason they'll take 15-25 months is to make sure you stay and establish yourself in the province that nominated you so that it becomes harder to leave once you get your PR (you'll probably have a job, make friends, maybe buy a house, kids will go to school etc). I'm aware that some people want to use Saskatchewan and Manibotba to just get easy PR and then move to Vancouver/Toronto/Calgary etc. after 6 months which makes it a waste of effort for the nominating province.

But then again why take 25 months to give PR to someone who is outland? If the province wants them for their skills you'd think they would want them straight away.

Anyway, just speculating, it is what it is.

How long did it take for you?
I could apply for other stream but they send me application to this one first to tight me to this work. I can't leave this job until I am pr. My work permit is running out and I have to pay fees again for new one. I don't have extra money since I spent for this nomination+pr 6k already.

I am the one who wants to move from Toronto elsewhere. I like Manitoba more. But now I have to wait 2 years to be free again.

If you look at my signature I don't even have AOR yet, but I understand migration stuff very well and there is no advantage of paper over online for any application made in the new online portal. I'm aware of other people who applied online and I ask them about their application status regularly and their wait times are the same as sending an application via paper.

So if you're in Toronto, did you get OINP nomination? You say your work permit is running out, did you receive a Work Permit Support Letter?

Don't crib over $6k or $16k or $60k, people in other countries would die for a chance to come to Canada (especially for PR).

I am sorry I didn't pay attention to your signature, I am new here. Do you know anyone who already received the PR status applying through this portal?

I am just saying I don't get the point of making this application digital if we still have to wait up to two years.

Yes, I got OINP nomination. And yes, I did receive the Work Permit Support Letter.

I'm not, but clearly they have designed it with the intention of processing applications and issuing residency through it. This should answer your question on the digitization element for these applications: https://www.cicnews.com/2021/04/ircc-launches-online-application-portal-for-7-immigration-programs-0417746.html#gs.v8g8a6

Going digital isn't designed to give online applicants some special advantage over non-online applicants, it is being done to bring down overall processing times and avoid situations like COVID-19 mailing delays and obviously stop outdated methods like immigration officers scanning troves of papers which probably isn't fun.

Further, it helps applicants prevent making mistakes like failing to provide documents required of them, which causes processing delays on both ends, and things like replacing wet signatures with digital signatures in the event a signature was forgotten on a document or a proof of payment is missing (it happens) through the logic built into the online portal.

And mind you, it's up to 25 months - some people are getting their In-land paper-based PNP in 6-13 months (lucky ducks!). They seem to be prioritizing in-Canada applicants which is consistent with the messaging we've been seeing from the IRCC.

You have a Work Permit Support letter - again, people would do anything for this document. Your cost of extension at $155 so like me you are very lucky and can keep staying in this country till your PR is processed.

You like Manitoba more? Wow. I have NEVER heard of someone say that. That is stranger than some saying "I love Saskatchewan" (which I do haha), so they will love you if you more there. You'll simply have to enjoy Toronto till you get your eCOPR unless you wish to pay more fees and try for Express Entry - whenever it opens again.
