Surrender certificate processing timeline. Help please!

Hey guys,

Applied for my surrender certificate at Toronto and it's started processing on 23rd March. I am set to fly to Vancouver on 9th May as I am moving cities. So that gives me 45 days to receive the package in person.

I am bit concerned if that is enough time for me to receive the certificate.

The BLs site says 8 weeks.
Is it really 8 weeks? Can anyone who has received his or her certificate recently share their timeline?

For me it took about exactly '6' weeks for a BLS Walk-in application, as you have submitted in person I would consider the duration would be shorter.

Forgot to mention. I applied by post. So I guess 7 weeks in total.

It was a walk-in here in BLS office in Winnipeg but all the applications will be mailed to CGI Toronto office from BLS winnipeg.

One question guys did you sent the original Canadian passport along with copy for surrender certificate by postal mode for those who have done recently.Can someone confirm?
