Hi,

My parents Super visa applications have been processing for two years (Applied Feb 2020). They had passed the medical exams, then Covid struck, and their applications got stuck. I have reached out to Delhi immigration multiple times, and they have not provided any update on status. The online website says that the file is in processing. Should my parents undergo a new medical exam since the previous medical expired? IRCC has not requested a new medical exam. The IRCC website says that they are processing applications, but this has taken forever. Any suggestions, advice would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Parm Singh

ircc had asked to reapply to people who applied before sept 7,2021…you will have to redo medicals if its expired…biometrics will be picked up from old application of u give the uci number when making fresh application…you will have to submit all updated documents as well

This is an extract from IRCC's Delhi Immigration Office email to us:
"If you submitted an application before September 7, 2021 and you have already requested and received a travel exemption, you do not need to submit a new application. Your application is being processed.
If you submitted an application before September 7, your situation has changed and you are eligible to enter Canada, you may wish to submit a new, online application."

Our situation has not changed and our parents are eligible to enter Canada. My parents applications fall in the first category. That is why we haven't reapplied. It seems there is no clear answer from IRCC. They are saying you "may" wish to submit a new application. We submitted proof of Covid vaccinations and received the above response. I know Biometrics are valid for 10 years.

I am apprehensive to resubmit the entire Super visa applications. We still have all documents and insurance in order.

Thank you,

Parm Singh
