If it was the email with the subject “Follow the progress of your citizenship grant application”, then that isn’t a ghost update. It’s to inform you about how to track your application.

ok.. what is a ghost update btw

You will get an email form IRCC saying your profile / account has been updated, but when you login, you will not see any changes. This is called ghost update. The meaning is, there might be some updates in your file that cannot be seen in the screen... Hope it helps! Who named it as ghost update, I do not know

The ghost update is when you log in, the Updated: date changed but there is no update or email you can see. The applications are being haunted by the ghosts of efficient IRCC agents who are long gone.
