I am currently working in Canada with a work permit I obtained through CUSMA, I have been working for more than a year and I want to apply for the CEC(Canadian Experience Class - Express Entry) or PNP for which I meet the requirements. However, while reading about CUSMA, I found the following statement:

"Chapter 16 of the CUSMA deals only with temporary entry of selected business persons. It has no effect on permanent residence. The Agreement defines temporary entry as entry without the intent to establish permanent residence."
ref: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-ma[…]foreign-workers/international-free-trade-agreements/cusma.html

Does it mean the obtained work experience through my CUSMA does not count for CEC/PNP or it only means it will not give any advantage for the PR process over other applicants that obtained their permit through a different method?

Thank you

Your work experience counts towards CEC. It will give you no advantage over other applicants. You'll apply just like any other applicant with Canadian work experience.
