July 2021 - Citizenship Applicants

Strange. I just got email from CIC about the Citizenship test as below :

This is to acknowledge receipt of your application for Canadian Citizenship. We will review your
application and supporting documents and will contact you if additional information is required.
All citizenship applicants between 18 and 54 years of age on the date they sign their application
must meet language and knowledge requirements to become a Canadian citizen. If this includes
you, you will need to:
• Demonstrate competence in basic communication in English or French.
• Pass a written or if necessary, an oral test on your knowledge of Canada and the rights
and responsibilities of citizenship.
The knowledge test is based on the information provided in the official citizenship study guide. It
is 20 multiple choice questions and you must get at least 15 correct to pass.
• The study guide is available on the IRCC website at:
On the same page, you will find more
information on how to prepare for the test.
When your application has been reviewed and has met basic eligibility, IRCC will send you
correspondence to invite you to a knowledge test.

But I already finished my test on Jan-26 ,2022 & it shows completed on the tracker.

Does anyone faced this ? Does it mean I will have re-appear ? Or it is mistake ( tech/glitch) ?

Probably just an Email that was supposed to have reached you prior to your test. I would not be concerned.

Does anyone got their Indian passport renewed while their citizenship application is in process.
have you got it done in tatkal? Or through regular process ?
Also once you got the new passport (renewed passport) did you reach out to ircc with the new details ?
please provide some inputs.

I have applied for renewal, normal application , been processing for 3 weeks now

Also once you got the new passport (renewed passport) did you reach out to ircc with the new details ?

For this, not sure but I read somewhere that since new passport doesn't fall under our eligibility period, we don't need to send any details.

Mostly 2-3 months or longer for the Citizenship ceremony.
The Oath cannot be taken from outside of Canada. It is best if you finish your Oath before you go on vacation.

You will need to wait for your passport too, otherwise, it's complicated to come back.

I would forget about vacation until I get my passport. Or you could just go and come back whenever they invite you to oath since wait times seem pretty long these days.

Wait if you can before going home. You might end up in a lot of stress while On vacation if they send your oath then.

I took the citizenship test on March 15 at 5:14 PM and my citizenship test status changed to completed yesterday, March 21st.
