Hello,

Thank you in advance for any insights. I was refused a visitor visa for a second time and decided to go through the JR process. I recently received a settlement offer from the DOJ for my application to go back to the IRCC for redetermination. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the below questions:
  1. How long does it typically take for IRCC to reopen the application?
  2. Are applications that are sent back for redetermination typically approved or are you essentially at square one as if it's a new application? Are they viewed differently given that they've gone through the JR route and settled with the DOJ?
  3. Are applications sent back for redetermination at the bottom of the pile with new applications or are they prioritized differently?
Thanks very much.

Very few people go to JR for a TRV so not a lot of data.

Understood. Thanks. Figured it would be a long shot but if any info at all out there please let me know. I've gone through previous posts on this forum and doing my best to piece it together that way.

How about for study visa
Very few go to JR for study permits either. It is a very expensive process with no guarantees. What is your background? Masters degrees are not commonly refused unless it doesn’t make sense based on your previous education and work history,

I have a pending JR for work permit and TR since may 2020 and still waiting atm. It’s a very slow and annoying process.
