I am an Indian citizen living in a 3rd country in south-east Asia now and need to travel to Canada (visit at first, possibly work shortly after). I am currently in the process of acquiring the nationality of a Caribbean country and expect to become a citizen of the new country in 2-3 more months.
Should I just wait for the new citizenship and use that to apply for a Canadian visa, or apply now with my Indian passport? India does not permit dual citizenship and I intend to renounce my Indian citizenship with pleasure as soon as I can - how would this play out if I am already in Canada with a visa granted to my Indian passport? Is it even possible / Is there a process to transfer an existing visa to a new nationality ?
