STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Introduction:
I am Sushil Bhojwani, a Software Engineer, from Pune. Through this statement of purpose, please allow me to explain my choice of course, the career prospects it would provide me, and my eligibility to complete the same successfully.
Academic/Professional Background:
I completed my Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from <College and university name>. Post graduation, I worked at <Company1.> for 3 years. During which I represented my team as Technical Associate at client location in London, UK for more than a year. Then, I joined <Company 2> as a System Engineer. Presently, I am employed with <company 3>. as a Technology Analyst. Throughout my career I have been working in telecom domain and have worked for clients like <clients name>.
With 55 months of experience in implementing, testing and designing high performance Telecom applications I have accomplished a deep learning in Software Engineering. In my current role besides leading the application testing team I am a part of solution architecture group. Being a part of the architecture group has helped me understand the bigger picture behind projects and organization. This in turn invoked my interest to become a learned System architect that can help organizations on various aspects of System life cycles and various other systems like Database, Networks and different programming languages.
A Masters degree in Computer science is an esteemed route for transforming a software engineer to a System Architect. Therefore, it became an obvious choice for me and I started scouting for courses in Masters of computer science. I could have chosen to study in India but the courses here have longer duration and lacks one determining quality, that it doesn’t have international flavor and advanced disciplines. Hence, I decided to do it in foreign country.
Why I wish to study the Masters in Computer Science at <university where you got admission>
To give a brief, the Masters in Computer science (industrial/thesis/project(choose what you have) Based) at the <university> is well recognized and includes all the prerequisites to groom me as a System Architect. It provides solid, fundamental hands-on training to equip IT specialists with the skills needed to understand Complex systems in a timely and cost-effective manner. As the course is for two years (16th Month course + 8 months Co-op Option) it’s most suitable, as I don’t want to take off for too long from the industry. Moreover, the key feature of the program is the Full-Time, 8 Months (2 terms) CO-OP option that will allow me to gain vital experience in participating organization. Further, it will also provide me with an opportunity to network with industry professionals from all disciplines and use leading edge Databases, Networks, Switches, and quality management technologies and best practices. Also, this program will help me in securing the CCNA, CCNP, Oracle credential, which is the most important industry-recognized certification for Networking and Database (System Architects).
After reviewing my academic background, work experience and language skills (through language tests), <university> has offered me a confirmed admission to join the course, this Fall (offer letter attached with the application).
Conclusion:
As IT industry has grown in India multiple folds, the need for System Architects has also grown substantially. I am sure that after completing this course, I will have a higher skill set, a deeper understanding of the nuances in System Architect that will definitely help me reach my full potential in the discipline and pursue my career in that direction. At this juncture, I would like to mention that I am most suitable candidate for this program based on my technical background and the industry I am employed with.
I am using the savings accrued from my previous earnings, my family’s support and my credentials (IT Returns along with additional documents outlining the same are enclosed) to support the application.
