In an application of 5 family sponsorship, IRCC requested for the five family members passports, but 3 passports were affixed with immigrants visas while the remaining two were not.. the remaining 2 were returned without visas…immediately we sent a web form informing them about the mistake and explained how pained it feels… If the Principal applicant travels with the two dependants with visas, will it affect the remaining two having IRCC abandon them?

To be sure, were all 5 passports issued by the same country? Because applicants with a nationality/passport that does not need a visa to travel to Canada aren't issued visa counterfoils (and so the request for all 5, instead of 3, could have been mistaken / miscommunicated / misunderstood).

Look at the principal applicant's COPR - it should list dependents. All of them. Check that first.

If the Principal applicant travels with the two dependants with visas, will it affect the remaining two having IRCC abandon them?
Again, this is critical: if the other dependents are not listed, then absolutely no members of the family should travel and land. The principal applicants has to make an attestation at landing that the information on the COPR - esp as to family composition - is correct. Any omission will cause serious problems.

Correct, there should be 5 COPR.

When we got approved and submitted passports, we received 2 COPRs (1 for the wife and 1 for the daughter).
yes - but I mention again, the COPR for the principal applicant should list all the dependents - another clue to what may or may not have gone wrong here.

I checked them and you are right, we have both but both point to the other as dependant.
That's the case if there are only two (PA + dependant). If there's more than one dependent, PA's COPR will list all dependants, and each dependant's COPR will refer to the PA.

So the key thing (in the case above) is to know how many people are listed on the PA's COPR.
