Hi,
How many slots did you have on your MyCIC account? I got 3 slots for additional documents. First slot says Proof of relationship, the second and third says Letter of Explanation.
What is required for proof of relationship. I was thinking of submitting marriage certificate and pictures of the ceremony. Anything else you would recommend?

You'll also be asked for a completed Principal Applicant Relationship Assessment Questionnaire & Spouse Relationship Assessment Questionnaire. As well as the following:

- Relationship photos (Wedding photographs depicting all the rituals of a traditional wedding, wedding reception and post wedding photographs, commitment ceremony photos from outings together trips, honeymoon, etc. (10–15 photos max)
- If you are living together, evidence such as copy of bills, bank statements, lease agreement, drivers licenses showing your names and address (10–15 pages max)

BTW Congratulations!!

Thanks! I read somewhere that spouse's birth certificate was required as well. Is this true?

Yes, spouse's birth certificate, Medicals and PCCs.

Thanks. I have a few more questions.

Did you do the medicals for your spouse after informing CIC of the marriage?
What information did you have to provide to the person conducting the medical exam to link your spouse's application to yours. Express entry number, UCI number or something else?

My spouse did the medical after the marriage. I told the clinic that he'll be added to my application as dependent. He's eMedical states Family-EDE instead of non-ede worker. I've asked them about my spouse medical category and they told me thats the way it goes cause he's not applying as Principal applicant.

When are you getting married?

In a week to 10 days. The things is that it take the county court around 10 or more days to generate the marriage certificate after the ceremony.

So am trying to figure out when to let CIC know. On the day of the ceremony or after I get the marriage certificate. Both options have their pros and cons.

Immediately after you get married, you can explain in an LOE about the delay in submitting the marriage certificate. You must be able to provide some supporting documentation right after the wedding, photographs for instance.

Asivad is correct. Do what he suggested. In my case, I notified CIC 3 days after the ceremony. Let them know that you need to wait for the marriage certificate to arrive. I told them that it'll take 2-4 weeks so i think that's the reason why they gave me a month to upload. Give a specific date when you can provide all the additional information to buy some time otherwise you'll only be given a week to complete them.

@Nitz_Au: Is there any feedback for your spouse's application on the MyCIC dashboard? Such as "Medicals Passed" or "Background check in progress" or anything like that? Or are you only able to get feedback using GCMS notes.

I'd got multiple slots, corresponding to the list of required documents (they just missed the bit re questionnaire so I uploaded in LOE).

Did you a second set of medicals? The medicals are valid for a year and it seems like you submitted your application in Dec 2015.

Yep.

Nope, it's for the whole application as a whole, as you had before adding your spouse.

Ok, so right now it says "medicals passed" for me. But after I add my spouse it will change to something else right?

Yes all fields will be reset.
