Hello there

I'm going to submit (not yet) my EE profile today. I'm an international student in Canada for the past 5 years. But i'm not sure whether any points given for Canadian education or not. So far, I only have 441 points including one yr work experience. Please suggest any other ways to improve my points. I got 7.5 in IELTS (not moving any further :'( ) Thank you for any suggestions.
There are points for Canadian education in the eligibility criteria (the 67 points), but not for CRS.

If you can't improve your IELTS, your options are more education, more work experience, or PNP.

Thank you for your response. Won't that eligiblity points will be added to the EE points? If I do my IELTS again after submitting my profile today, can I still update my results later?

Please share who neesds to be applicant in this form while my spouse is filling it. I see different theories on this forum, few people said applicant would still be me on Spouse's Additional family and he got the PR while others were saying opposite.

I'm filling Addtional Family form(IMM5406E) for me and wife my wife. I'm the main applicant for PR
In my IMM5406E form Applicant name I can fill myself. For my wife's IMM5406E form, would she be considered Applicant and I would come in as spouse's field?

Thank you Rajkamalmohanraj for the brief and to the point overview of the complete and lengthy process.

1. Can you confirm if this statement of yours is still valid "Please note that you and your dependents MUST land in Canada before your (and their) medical test expires (The validity of the medical test is 1 year from the date of the test) OR before your current passport expires, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST."
The reason I ask is because I had recently spoken to an immigration attorney in Canada and they said that you have until 6 months from the date your passport gets maple leaf visa and COPR in the mail, to land in Canada. If you don't land within this time period than you lose you COPR.
When you get your visa, it will have an expiry date on it.
But I'm fairly certain it's 1 year from the date of your medicals.

2. My previous title was "Systems Analyst" and current title is "Systems Support Engineer", what should be my NOC as I am not able to find a close enough match to my title/description in the NOC list -- understandably, I don't want to make any selection that may later be considered misleading and harms my application.
Make a list of the main duties and email it to noc@workingincanada.gc.ca

Thanks again.
In regard to visa expiration, let's say that I'm unable to get to Canada within the time before visa is set to expire, is there way to get an extension to land in Canada a few months later?

Only if you have an exceptionally good reason, like you're hospitalised or there's a death in the family.

I think Saskatchewan is open, and 2171 is on the in-demand list.

Hi rajkamalmohanram,

This article is very helpful to people like us who are planning to apply for PR under Express Entry- FSWP.

Me and my husband, we both are eligible to express entry- FSWP, but we have decided that, my husband will be the main applicant to initiate this process.
We are currently in the USA on H1B and H4 visa respectively. I have couple of queries before we register to express entry pool.

1. My husband did his masters from USA and he has already requested for ECA to WES.
I have Bachelors degree and 8 years of working experience in IT industry as a software engineer in India. Currently, I am on H4 visa hence I couldn't work over
here. Do I need to request for ECA too before my husband register to EE?

2. As per FSWP eligibility criteria, we got 86 points out of 100 but I am little bit confuse about CRS points. Could you please explain what is difference between 100
and CRS 1200 points?

3. Based on cic website information, only main applicant can register to Job Bank, post creating express entry profile. Please clarify
whether dependent can also register to Job Bank or not? If yes, then we both can start applying for jobs.

4. For police clearance certificate (pcc), we have already initiated the process to FBI. But till April 2015, we both were in India hence, to get the pcc from Indian
government, we need to go to the Indian Embassy. Should we visit the Indian Embassy for pcc before we get ITA from cic or should we wait for ITA?
If we can apply for pcc to Indian Embassy before we get ITA then what documents needs to be submitted as a proof to show that we need pcc for Canada
immigration?

I would really appreciate if you could help us to resolve our queries. :)

Thank you,
Ridhi

Your husband can create his EE profile without your ECA results. Your results can then be added later on, if you want to claim points for your education.

2. As per FSWP eligibility criteria, we got 86 points out of 100 but I am little bit confuse about CRS points. Could you please explain what is difference between 100
and CRS 1200 points?
The FSW criteria determines whether or not you are eligible to create an EE profile.
Once you create your profile, you're assigned a CRS score. The criteria for the 2 scoring systems are slightly different (you do not get CRS points for having Canadian relatives, for example).
Whether or not you receive ITA is based on your CRS score.

3. Based on cic website information, only main applicant can register to Job Bank, post creating express entry profile. Please clarify
whether dependent can also register to Job Bank or not? If yes, then we both can start applying for jobs.
Only the primary applicant can register for Job Bank.
But honestly, that doesn't really matter, because it is exceptionally unlikely that either of you will be offered a job before you have PR.
Nonetheless, both applicants can use other websites to search for jobs (workopolis.com, monster.ca, etc.).

You can get an Indian PCC now, as long as you do not return to India before your application has been submitted. If you do, you'll need a new PCC.

If we can apply for pcc to Indian Embassy before we get ITA then what documents needs to be submitted as a proof to show that we need pcc for Canada
immigration?
For other countries which require proof, some people have used their EE profile and the statement on the CIC website that a PCC is required.

I would really appreciate if you could help us to resolve our queries. :)

Thank you,
Ridhi
