So not really an immigration question per se, but I've got a critical mass of people who recently immigrated to Quebec, so I figured this was a good audience to ask.
Has anyone recently traded in an international driver's license for a Quebec license? We moved here (from NY) in 2019, but with the pandemic and everything, it's taken (practically) forever for my husband to be able to get an appt at the SAAQ to exchange his driver's license. He finally has an appointment at the end of January, BUT we're going to France at the end of February and will be renting a car there, for which he will need his license.
So my question is: for those of you who have exchanged a license, what was the processing time after you had your appointment at the SAAQ outlet?
(I know you're supposed to get a new license within six months of moving here, but we don't own a car, so it's been a pretty low priority...)
