According to the survey, cities were given scores from 0 to 100 on five factors: education, culture and environment, health care, infrastructure, and stability. Vancouver scored 98 points out of the maximum 100.
Vancouver, and many of the other top ten cities, has a low population density and many cultural and infrastructure benefits. Vancouver also has lower crime rates than most big cities.
Two other Canadian cities, Calgary, Alberta and Toronto, Ontario, were also within the top ten cities chosen with Toronto placing fourth and Calgary placing fifth.
