The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program issued 515 new Letters of Advice to Apply for a provincial nomination in a draw that took place on August 17.
In this draw, Manitoba issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to 410 candidates under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream. The lowest-ranked candidate invited had a score of 500.
The remaining 105 candidates were invited under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)'s Skilled Worker Overseas Stream. The lowest ranked candidate under this stream had a score of 642.
The MPNP says that all candidates considered under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream were invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Strategic Recruitment Initiatives include recruitment missions, where provincial representatives hold interviews with skilled workers outside the country. The MPNP later issues LAAs to skilled workers who are qualified based on the eligibility criteria of the program.
Candidates who obtain an LAA have 60 days to submit a complete application for a provincial nomination to the MPNP.
Skilled workers in Manitoba and overseas who received a LAA in the August 17 draw and whose application for a provincial nomination is approved can then submit an application for Canadian permanent resident status to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) is a the first step for anyone interested in immigrating to Manitoba.
