Saskatchewan invited 295 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence. The draw took place on July 8.
The Saskatchewan PNP is officially called Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Those invited were eligible for a nomination through the International Skilled Worker category under the SINP.
The International Skilled Worker Category has two subcategories:
A total of 99 immigration candidates were invited through the Express Entry subcategory. Another 196 were invited through the Occupations In-Demand subcategory.
Regardless of the subcategory, candidates were first required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile, and have a score of at least 80 EOI points. In addition, they also needed an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to show that credential is comparable to a Canadian one.
Invited candidates needed to have work experience in one of 62 in-demand occupations. These occupations are listed on this government webpage.
Saskatchewan uses the EOI system to choose candidates who will most likely succeed in the province's labour market.
If you're interested in immigrating to Saskatchewan, you must first create an EOI profile. Your profile will be assessed on things like your work experience, education, language ability, age and connections to the province.
Connections to the province can include having a job offer, or having a relative living in Saskatchewan.
Based on these factors, you'll be given a point score out of 100, according to the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. The highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination.

Many provinces, including Saskatchewan, also have their own immigration streams that are aligned with the Express Entry system. In Saskatchewan, the Express Entry sub-category under the Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker category is an example of such a stream.

Candidates who are in the federal Express Entry pool, who completed an EOI, and scored 7 on Saskatchewan's Points Assessment Grid, were invited in the latest draw.
Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan are given an additional 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This practically guarantees receiving an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw.
Saskatchewan invited 196 candidates under the Occupations In-Demand sub-category. Candidates do not need to have an Express Entry profile to be eligible under the sub-category.
If you have work experience in an occupation that would address Saskatchewan's labour shortages, then this sub-category is for you.
You would not need to have a job offer to be eligible. Foreign nationals are required to create an EOI profile through the province's online application system.
