What is the EOI system?
Many provinces including Saskatchewan use the EOI system to choose immigration candidates who will address labour market needs.
The first step if you want to immigrate to Saskatchewan, is to create an EOI profile.
You will be prompted to provide personal information, and based on your answers, you will be given a point score.
This score will be based on factors such as your work experience, education, language proficiency, age as well as your connections to Saskatchewan.
Connections to the province include having a job offer, or having a relative living in Saskatchewan.
The point score you are given is out of 100. It is according to the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. The province invites the highest scoring candidates to apply for a provincial nomination during SINP draws.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Canada's immigration department, uses the Express Entry system to manage permanent residence applications through the three main economic class immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP);
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP), and
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
In addition, many provinces including Saskatchewan, have immigration programs ed with Express Entry. Such programs are called "enhanced" programs.
The Express Entry sub-category under the Saskatchewan International Skilled Worker category is an example of an enhanced programs.
In the latest draw, candidates who are in the Express Entry pool, who completed an EOI, and scored at least 66 on Saskatchewan's Points Assessment Grid, were invited in the latest draw.
Express Entry candidates who get nominated from a Canadian province are given an extra 600 points toward their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
This means that they will receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
