Candidates in work experience in an eligible occupation were invited 295 to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence. The draw took place on August 5.
The Saskatchewan PNP is officially called Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Invited candidates were eligible for a nomination through the International Skilled Worker category under the SINP.
The International Skilled Worker Category has two subcategories:
Of those invited, 171 immigration candidates were invited through the Express Entry subcategory, and 281 were invited through the Occupations In-Demand subcategory.
Immigration candidates first needed to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile, and have a score of at least 73 EOI points. They also needed to get an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) to show that their foreign credential is comparable to a Canadian one.
In addition, they needed to have work experience in one of 65 in-demand occupations. These occupations are listed on this government webpage.
Saskatchewan, as well as many other provinces, uses the EOI system to choose candidates who will most likely succeed in the province's labour market.
If you want to immigrate to Saskatchewan, you must first create an EOI profile. Based on the information you provide on your profile, you will be given a point score. This score is based on factors such as work experience, education, language ability, age as well as connections to the province.
Connections to the province can be having a job offer, or having a relative living in Saskatchewan.
Your point score is out of 100, and will be according to the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. During every draw, the highest scoring candidates are invited to apply for a provincial nomination.

Saskatchewan invited 281 candidates under the Occupations In-Demand sub-category. You do not need to have an Express Entry profile to be eligible for this sub-category.

You don't need to have a job offer to be eligible. Foreign nationals are required to create an EOI profile through the province's online application system.
