Quebec’s Immigration Ministry has released its updated list of occupations that are exempt from the Labour Market Impact Assessment advertising requirement.
Occupations on the list, which is updated annually, are considered specialized and high-wage positions. A Quebec employer hiring a foreign employee covered by the list is exempt from having to first advertise the position locally.
The 2018 list of occupations that qualify for this so-called simplified or facilitated Labour Market Impact Assessment process includes most of the occupations on the 2017 list, with the following changes:

A transitional period of 30 days is granted to the employer or his/her representative to allow for the examination of an application submitted according to the previous year's list.
