Prince Edward Island (PEI) is the latest in a string of provinces to benefit from Citizenship and Immigration Canada funding to go towards online tools. Over four years, PEI will receive $808,000 to promote the province as an immigration destination through the development of online services, content, and tools for prospective immigrants as well as those who have already arrived.
"The Government of Prince Edward Island is committed to attracting and retaining immigrants as a means of increasing our population," explained Richard Brown, PEI Minister of Development and Technology. "New internet-based services will provide essential information for all newcomers and allow us to do an even better job of promoting the Island as a new home for immigrants. The department is committed to supporting the Prince Edward Island Association for Newcomers and these funds will assist them in their support and settlement efforts."
Earlier this year, Citizenship and Immigration Canada announced $18.8 million for several provinces and territories to enhance online information about working in and settling into the regions.
