Quebec Investor Program Reopens for up to 1,900 new Applications

The popular Quebec Investor Program has reopened for up to 1,900 new applications, as of May 30, 2016. Of the 1,900 applications that may be accepted, a maximum of 1,330 applications may be accepted from nationals of the People's Republic of China, including the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao.


Quebec to Introduce 'Virtual Waiting Room' for Approaching QSWP Intake Period

The government of Quebec plans to implement an online 'virtual waiting room' in time for the approaching application intake period for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), which is scheduled to begin June 13, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. EST (Montréal time).

The stated reason for the system being offline is due to technical maintenance of the system.

Eleventh Express Entry Draw of 2016 Sees Decrease in CRS Point Requirement for Immigration to Canada

The number of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points required for candidates in the Express Entry pool to be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence has decreased in the latest draw, the eleventh to take place so far this year. A total of 763 candidates were issued an ITA on May 18, 2016, with the CRS point requirement set at 484.
