A recent report, entitled Outlook for Human Resources in the ICT Labour Market, 2011-2016, states that there will be a labour shortage of qualified applicants for IT related jobs in Canada within the next few years. Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has launched a pilot project aimed at helping refugees who are escaping persecution due to their sexual orientation. CIC will be partnering with Rainbow Refugee Committee, a Vancouver-based organization, to share the costs involved with sponsoring refugees.

The updated guide, Discover Canada: the Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship, can now be ordered or downloaded from Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s website, www.cic.gc.ca
