The Canadian province of Ontario has issued new invitations through the French-Speaking Skilled Worker and Skilled Trades streams.
Both invitation rounds were held on November 4.
This is the fourth announcement this year of new Notifications of Interests, or NOIs, issued through Ontario's French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and the third for the Skilled Trades Stream. Both of these streams allows the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) to search the Express Entry pool for eligible candidates. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores in the latest invitation round were as follows:
- Candidates in the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream, had a comprehensive ranking system score between 453 and 470.
- Candidates in the Skilled Trades stream, had a comprehensive ranking system score between 436 and 470.
With an NOI, Express Entry candidates can apply for a provincial nomination from Ontario. If successful, candidates receive an additional 600 points towards their CRS score, putting a federal Invitation to Apply (ITA) well within reach.
The Skilled Trades Stream allows the OINP to search the federal Express Entry pool for candidates currently living in Ontario who have a minimum of one year full-time work experience, or the equivalent in part-time work, in a skilled trade listed in Minor Group 633 or Major Group 72, 73, or 82 of Canada’s National Occupational Classification (NOC).
The French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream allows the OINP to search the Express Entry pool for eligible French-speaking candidates with strong English language abilities.
Candidates must be eligible for either the Federal Skilled Worker Class or the Canadian Experience Class, and meet specified provincial criteria in order to be considered for a NOI from the OINP.
Ontario has a large francophone minority population and the province says the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream supports its commitment to increase francophone immigration.
