Ontario’s latest draw took place on December 15 and issued targeted notifications of interest to candidates who may qualify for Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities stream.
Ontario’s Express Entry Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream is an immigration stream under the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). Candidates who receive invitations through this stream are required to have a profile in the federal Express Entry system.
A total of 668 principal applicants received Notifications of Interest (NOIs). Candidates needed to have needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 460 and 468 in order to be invited.
Although candidates do not need to have a job offer, they must demonstrate that they have at least one year of work experience in one of the following technology occupations in order to apply to the Ontario’s Express Entry HCP stream:
All those who have received an NOI from Ontario must submit their application for provincial nomination within 45 calendar days in the OINP e-Filing Portal.

In the event that the application is approved, a letter of nomination approval and a Certificate of Nomination from the OINP will be sent to the candidate by e-mail.
Details related to the provincial nomination will also be entered into the Express Entry System and the candidate will be notified and invited to accept or decline it through their IRCC online account. This decision must be made by the candidate within 30 days.
If the candidate accepts the provincial nomination, they will be awarded an additional 600 points toward their CRS score, essentially guaranteeing that they will be invited to apply for permanent residence in the next round of invitations in the Express Entry System. IRCC generally conducts Express Entry invitation rounds every two weeks.
Express Entry is the system that the Canadian federal government uses to manage applications for permanent residence for three economic class immigration programs:
Final decisions about who becomes a permanent resident in Canada are made by the federal government.
