The Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has extended its deadline for selected applicants to apply through the Federal Skilled Worker Backlog Reduction Pilot Program. The deadline has been adjusted from May 4 to May 31, 2012.

The Backlog Reduction Pilot Program was put in place to allow targeted Federal Skilled Worker applicants the opportunity to come to Canada through the Ontario PNP. In addition to the regular annual cap of 1,000 nominees, the program will allow up to 600 additional immigrants to become permanent residents in the province.

This program is currently applicable for this year’s selection cycle. Potential applicants that have been identified by the province were issued letters inviting them to apply to the Ontario PNP. Only those who were issued such invitation letters may apply through the Backlog Reduction Pilot Program.
